The Role:

In the Senior Buyer role you’ll report to the International Procurement Director and will be responsible for driving cost and quality initiatives across your supply base area of responsibility working across and supporting a number of international sites and working with a global supply base.

Once your feet are under the table, you’ll have the flexibility to spend part of the working week based in the company’s Lancashire office (4 days), and the rest of it working from home (1 day). Details around how this will work will be revealed on application.


The Candidate:

To be the right person for Senior Buyer role you will need direct experience of working within a manufacturing related sector, eg Automotive, Aerospace or Engineering.

We also need you to have prior experience of:

– Leading a commodity bundle in a changeable and time critical operational environment

– Managing a supply base with a strong emphasis on cost and quality control

– Developing short, medium and long-term commodity strategies

It’s important that you also have the following:

– Significant previous commodity / procurement experience that’s been gained in a larger manufacturing or production group environment

– Strong communication skills able to build strong working relationships with key current and perspective suppliers

– Excellent organisation and administration skills with the ability to plan and prioritise work for self and others

You’ll also need to be the following:

– Able to prioritise own workload and to see a task through from start to finish

– A collaborator, a team player and capable of solving unforeseen issues

– Flexible and problem solving in your approach, able to find solutions to minimise production downtime

The Package:

The basic salary for the Senior Buyer role is circa.£50,000 – £53,000 per annum plus benefits (those on this salary currently are still encouraged to apply)

You’ll also receive other benefits which include the following:
