The Role:

In the Control Systems Engineer role you’ll report to the Engineering Director and will be primarily responsible for providing control systems technical expertise, supporting the engineering department to maximise processing efficiency and minimize production down time. You will support Shift Engineers to ensure that all plant and equipment is maintained to maximise operating efficiencies.

Specific tasks include:

– Taking proactive action to troubleshoot anticipated operational control problems

– Taking responsive action to minimise operational downtime through fault finding and repair of control systems

– Carrying out or oversee planned preventative maintenance activities, supporting the creation of PPM schedules


The Candidate:

To be the right person for Control Systems Engineer role you will need direct experience of and the technical knowledge to setup electronic control systems for mechanical equipment including integrating electrical wiring requirements to pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

We also need you to have prior experience of understanding wiring schematics, electrical drawings circuits and computer programming.

It’s important that you also have the following:

– Strong communication skills, able to maintain good working relationships with all employees within the group

– And demonstrate a logical approach in your thinking to fault finding

– Significant hands-on experience gained in a manufacturing, production or engineering environment

We need you to be conformable making operational decisions, using your experience and technical knowledge and be up-to0date with current thinking and technological advances around efficiency automation.

The Package:

The basic salary for the Control Systems Engineer role is up to £50,000 per annum.
